Poison ivy is a woody vine with three-lobed leaves that is common in the USA. The leaves of poison ivy are smooth or serrated. Poison ivy is apparently one of the most poisonous plants. They might cause skin irritation or dermatitis. The reaction results from contact with an oily substance produced by these plants.

Poison ivy is found over most of the country. Poison ivy is so widespread because over sixty species of birds eat the plant’s white berries and deposit the undigested seeds with their droppings.

If you do come into contact with poison ivy. follow these home poison ivy cures for minimizing irritation and treating. The first step is wash the area of contact with soap and water as soon as possible. Then swab the affected skin area with alcohol. A strong tea made of equal parts of white oak bark and lime water is very good for poison ivy.
