reduce-electric-bill-The wise use of energy is also wise money management, for it can save on your electric bills. There are several things you can do to reduce your electric bill in easy way, including:

Unplug appliances when they are not in use
Save electricity by turning off lights when nobody is in the room, or turning off the television if no body is watching. Tell your kids that if they help save electricity by turning off the lights, TV, etc. and your electricity bill goes down, you will split the savings with them.

Turn down the water heater’s thermostat
One of the biggest energy users in your house is the water heater. The cheapest and easiest way to reduce energy used to heat water is to turn down the temperature on your hot water tank.

Clean your refrigerator
Your refrigerator is a major energy user in your home. A good brushing every couple of months makes your refrigerator more efficient. If your refrigerator is 15 or more years old, it’s probably time to replace it. Brand-new, energy-efficient refrigerators use half as much energy as most 10-year-old fridges, which means they can reduce your refrigerator’s electric bill by at least $150 per year and will have a market value of $200 after five years.
