The opposite of good planning is impulse buying, which is when we buy too quickly. There is no doubt that most people enjoy shopping. Impulse buying is not a bad thing unless it gets out of control. Shopping too much causes you to drop into debt. So, it is important to learn how to control your impulse buying. Here several things you can try to control impulse buying:

Avoid stores
Stay out of stores unless you have a list of specific things you need to buy.

Don’t leave home with it.
Leave your checkbook, debit card, and credit cards at home. And take only predetermined amount of money with you when you go out.

Wait a while
When you see something you hadn’t planned to purchase, go home and think it over. If you really need it, wait to buy until those items go on sale. Many items, such as sporting goods and clothing, are marked down near certain holidays and at the end of each climate season.
