There are thousands of known species of fleas. Cat fleas are the fleas most often encountered by people in the United States. The adult cat flea is dark brown or black, has a laterally flattened body, and is between 2 and 5 mm long. The cat flea is most likely to feed on cats, but it can also infest both dogs and humans. So if your cat has fleas, everyone and everything else in your home does, too

In most cases, they cause only a mild itch; but a heavy infestation, especially of kittens or older, ill cats, might cause severe anemia or even the death of the cat. Cat fleas can also cause serious allergies in both animals and humans. An effective flea control strategy requires an understanding of the flea life cycle. To control fleas, you must attack them at every part of the life cycle. Keep sites clean and animals healthy can be the best way to prevent from cat fleas.
